Stock markets were mixed on Wednesday, initially climbing but giving up ground in the middle of the day. The S 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) and the Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQINDEX: ^IXIC) managed to claw back to modest gains, but the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJINDICES: ^DJI) finished lower.
