Tuesday was a down day on Wall Street, as investors prepared for the first debate between the two major U.S. presidential candidates. Without too much economic news to drive prices, market participants consolidated some of their big gains from Monday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJINDICES: ^DJI), S&P 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) and Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQINDEX: ^IXIC) were down less than half a percent each.
