Offenbar hat der regulatorische Gegenwind, der dem Stable Coin in spe aus allen Himmelsrichtungen mal mehr, mal weniger stark entgegenweht, einige große Unterstützer des Projekts verschreckt. Das berichtet das Wallstreet Journal unter Berufung auf Insider-Berichte. Demnach habe die harsche Haltung von EU- und US-Regulatoren gegenüber Libra dafür gesorgt, dass einige Libra-Partner – darunter die Zahlungsdienstleister Visa und MasterCard – ihr Engagement bei Libra noch einmal überdenken möchten. Visa und MasterCard sind Gründungsmitglieder der Libra Association.
