Is Expedia a Stock Worth Buying?


Expedia (NASDAQ: EXPE) has been working to integrate VRBO into the rest of its websites. That's a short-term drag on earnings that may pay off in the long term. VRBO rents out private residences and offers consumers alternatives to traditional hotel rooms. That's a growing market that may have some short-term stumbles as various locales figure out how to regulate this type of housing. That makes the shorter-term prospects for this stock a little bleak, and the long-term trend toward hotels and airlines that have direct relationships with consumers may be a long-term drag.
