Here's Why Alphabet's Stock Split Doesn't Matter
Online services giant Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOG) (NASDAQ: GOOGL), the parent company behind the powerful Google and Android brands, just announced a 20-for-1 stock split. This is the first ordinary stock split in the company's history, reducing stock prices from nearly $3,000 to approximately $150 per share.
And it's no big deal. Stock splits may sound exciting, but they don't really matter in the grand scheme of things.
