Das Ethereum-Netzwerk hat am Samstag, den 7. Dezember, sein nunmehr achtes Update erhalten. Mit Istanbul – so der Name der Hard Fork – wurden insgesamt sechs Verbesserungsvorschläge (Ethereum Improvement Proposals, EIP) umgesetzt. Die meisten dieser EIP (1108, 1844, 2028, 2200) bedeuten niedrigere Kosten für einzelne Funktionen von Smart Contracts. EIP-152 soll die Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) kompatibel mit Equihash-basierten Netwerken wie beispielsweise Zcash machen.
