Does Polkadot Have a Future?
The Polkadot (CRYPTO: DOT) cryptocurrency is having a tough time. The official blockchain ecosystem of the Web3 Foundation uses this digital token for governing functions, staking, and parachain operations. Although the crypto is properly known as DOT, most investors just use the Polkadot name, instead.
Either way, the token's price has only increased by 9% over the last year. Over the same period, Ethereum gained 20% and Bitcoin soared 107% higher. Even the S&P 500 stock market index outperformed Polkadot, with a 21% increase in the last 52 weeks:
