Qingdao / Shanghai / Frankfurt, 13 March 2020 - Haier Smart Home Co., Ltd. (D-Share ISIN CNE1000031C1, A-Share ISIN CNE000000CG9, "Haier Smart Home" or the "Company") hereby announces that it has been notified by Haier International Co., Ltd ("HIC"), an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company's major shareholder Haier Group Corporation (China), that the further share purchases of D-Shares by HIC as announced by the Company on 26 September 2019 (the "Further Purchases") are now intended to be postponed until after the possible privatization of Haier Electronics Group Co., Ltd. ("Possible Privatisation") ends or is terminated. The Possible Privatisation was first announced by the Company on 12 December 2019 with monthly updates having been published on 16 January 2020 and 14 February 2020. HIC further notified the Company that it would inform the Company once it recommences the Further Purchases as and when appropriate.

On 26 September 2019, the Company announced that HIC had acquired 57,142,857 D-Shares in the Company, amounting to 0.9% of the Company's total share capital and voting rights, in a private transaction outside the stock exchange (the "Block Trade") and that HIC intended to continue buying D-Shares by way of purchases through the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, and, possibly, through further block trades outside the market. It was announced that HIC in total intended to purchase D-Shares for EUR 66 million, including the executed Block Trade and the intended Further Purchases.
