Early last month, chip titan Broadcom (NASDAQ: AVGO) offered to acquire fellow chip giant Qualcomm (NASDAQ: QCOM) for a total consideration of $70 per share, with $60 in cash and the remaining $10 in stock.
Qualcomm, of course, rejected the bid, claiming that Broadcom's offer -- which came at a solid premium to where Qualcomm's shares were trading before Broadcom's offer came along -- "undervalues Qualcomm and comes with significant regulatory uncertainty."
