sicher, CHK bleibt potenzieller Pleitekandidat. Doch nur weil das heute ein Analyst verkündet, verschlechtern sich die Überlebenschancen der Firma auch nicht. Es gibt die Chance zu überleben und wieder Gewinne zu machen. Das sollte der Markt auch angemessen einpreisen. 
 
Zugegeben - mal wieder eine sehr spekulative Einschätzung von mir.

Sanford Bernstein analysts have now lowered their price target for $CHK to 50 cents per share. This likely accounts for some of the down movement today. It does not change the $CHK turn around story. Hopefully $CHK can manage the loan covenant situation reasonably well. This could be what Buffet calls a BLOOD IN THE STREETS moment for $CHK.

In the earnings call $CHK did say they were on track for positive free cash flow for the business in 2020. That means it should be profitable. Keep in mind $CHK is heavily hedged to insure against downturns in oil and natgas prices, specifically because they do have a lot of debt. It is really a question of a re-valuation of assets/resources causing them to not have enough equity to back up their loans. The Saudi Aramco IPO and OPEC+ seem likely to prevent oil prices from falling too much. The coming cuts to US oil and natgas development plans should help too. Other countries are sure to make cuts to development plans as well (decrease CapEx spending on development).

Keep in mind also that $CHK has also extended the good oil field prospects in the Brazos Valley significantly already to the northeast. It has proved a bit of these. As it proves more in Q4 and in 2020, these "good" oil resources will provide a good deal more equity for loans, even if oil prices fall. $CHK will still have a good amount of development going on in the Brazos Valley. It is my belief that Sanford Bernstein went overboard by a long ways. Time will tell.
