AMG unit signs agreement to supply solar grade silicon
Advanced Metallurgical Group said that its majority-owned subsidiary Timminco Ltd has signed a five-year agreement to provide up to 4,400 metric tons of solar grade silicon to a solar cell manufacturer. The company said the contract is its fourth long-term supply agreement, and it now expects to produce around 6,000 metric tons of high purity silicon annually from 2009.

Neue Eigentümer, neue Strategie
Zumindest was die Zahlen angeht. In der Vergangenheit konnte die AMG nicht durch Ihre Zahlen glänzen, die wahren eher desaströs und ein abschreckendes Beispiel. Aber ein neuer Großaktionär hat ssich eingekauft und seine Freunde gleich mitgebracht. Was nun passiert ist ein Richtungswechsel weg von der Hängepartie mit einer Eigenkapitalquote die selbst abgehärtete Börsianer nervös macht zu einem hoffentlich bald gut aufgestellten Unternehmen. Mit der dann vielleicht anvisierten Übernahme des ganzen... Ich finds gut.
