This is a stark reminder of the financial tightrope many Americans walk. The 8.7% failing to make minimum payments, with a steep slope 2 increase from 7.1%, is particularly concerning. It highlights the growing reliance on credit for essentials and the disproportionate impact on lower-income households. More support and education are clearly needed.
