Siemens verstärkt sein Engagement im Bereich Engineering Software - Erwerb der Mentor Graphics. Damit stimmt die Richtung für den deutschen High Tech Konzern: Mit dem Zukauf wird die Position der Software Sparte mit dem bereits umsatzstarken Siemens NX (ehemals Unigraphics) verstärkt. Der Zukauf passt auch zu der starken Stellung des Unternehmens im Bereich der Maschinensteuerungen, der auch Projektierungssoftware umfasst. Mitte 2015 hatte Daimler den Umstieg von Dassaults CATIA auf Siemens NX verkündet.
