Why Live Oak Bancshares Stock Dropped 14.6% in August

Shares of Live Oak Bancshares (NYSE: LOB) plummeted 14.6% in August, according to S&P Global Market Intelligence. The regional bank currently trades at just over $31 per share, up about 3.7% year to date. 

It trailed the major indexes in August, as the S 500 dropped 1.6%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 2.4%, and the Nasdaq Composite declined 1.7%.

Live Oak Bancshares is the holding company for Live Oak Bank, based in Wilmington, N.C. It is the 129th largest bank in the U.S. with about $10.7 billion in assets.
