Which Coffee Chain Has the Highest Customer Loyalty?
Americans visit coffee shops more than they do any other type of restaurant, according to data from Foursquare. The data-gathering company analyzed foot traffic to determine that overall traffic to coffee shops in the United States grew by 1.7% year-over-year during the first half of the year. That was driven by small, independent shops, which saw a 5% increase, while larger chains saw traffic fall by 1%.
That's not as bad as it seems for the big brands because while growth has accelerated for small brands with limited locations, large national chains "continue to maintain a greater overall share of wallet," according to Foursquare. In addition, those larger brands continue to hold the highest levels of customer loyalty.
