Should You Buy Walt Disney Stock?

Shares of Walt Disney (NYSE: DIS) have lost about a third of their value since the coronavirus pandemic began disrupting the company's business. The stock price stood at $104.70 at around 11 a.m. on April 7, down nearly 32% from a 52-week high of $153.41.

It's a drop that's easy to understand given that the company has had to close all of its theme parks and hotels around the world. Disney also had the misfortune of releasing the Pixar film "Onward" just before the efforts to fight the spread of COVID-19 forced movie theaters to close. That turned a near surefire winner into a box office dud. It also forced the company to reschedule its upcoming film slate and suspend production on movies not yet completed.
