RIB Software SE (RIB) signs a Phase-III-contract (No. 14 / 2020) with Autobahn GmbH des Bundes (the German Highway Authority)

Stuttgart, Germany, 25 June 2020. RIB Software SE, the world's leading provider of iTWO 5D BIM Big Data technology for the construction industry, today announced the conclusion of a Phase-III-contract with Autobahn GmbH des Bundes (the German Highway Authority Ltd.).

Starting 1 January 2021, the German Highway Authority Ltd., founded in 2018, will assume responsibility for the planning, construction, operation, maintenance, financing and asset management of the motorways and highways in Germany. From this date onwards, the federal motorways will no longer be managed under contract by the federal states, but under federal administration. With 13,000 kilometers of motorway and up to 15,000 employees in the future, the company will be one of the largest infrastructure operators in Germany and will work to make the world-famous German motorways even more efficient.

Anne Rethmann, managing director of finance at the German Highway Authority: "The German Highway Authority looks after one of the most important transport networks and public goods in Germany. It therefore focuses on sustainable investment in the expansion, construction and maintenance of the motorways. This also includes investments in modern and future-oriented digital solutions and processes. The integration of the innovative iTWO technology will help us to successfully implement one of the biggest infrastructure policy reforms of the past decades and it will support us in using resources more effectively and ensuring the quality of the German motorways in the future as well".
