- Dr. Dirk Wössner (51), currently a member of the management board of Deutsche Telekom AG, becomes chairman of the management board of CompuGroup Medical

- Founder and current chairman Frank Gotthardt (69) joins the supervisory board after 33 years at the top

Koblenz. After 33 successful years at the top of CompuGroup Medical SE (CGM), company founder and eHealth pioneer Frank Gotthardt will hand over the chairmanship of the management board to his successor Dr. Dirk Wössner by the end of the year at the latest. The company announced this today. According to the supervisory board's resolution, Dirk Wössner will take over as CEO of the MDAX company by January 1, 2021 at the latest. At the same time, Frank Gotthardt will join the supervisory board of CGM and take over as chairman. With Dirk Wössner, an internationally very successful and innovative leader takes the steering wheel at CGM. In combination with a freshly strengthened overall management board and a future chairman of the supervisory board, who knows the market internationally like no other, CompuGroup Medical is thus creating a perfect launch platform for further great success and extensive growth in the highly dynamic healthcare IT market.
Frank Gotthardt founded today's CompuGroup Medical SE in 1987. In the meantime, CGM has become one of the world's leading companies for information technology in health care with its own locations in 19 countries and over 5,500 highly qualified employees. More than one million doctors, nurses and many other health care professions use CGM's software in 56 countries worldwide. Today, citizens and patients also benefit from the company's innovative products, such as CGM LIFE and CLICKDOC for the secure management of health data and convenient communication with health professionals in doctors' and dentals' offices, hospitals and other healthcare facilities.

"To replace Frank Gotthardt at CGM is actually impossible," says Dr. Klaus Esser (72), chairman of the supervisory board. "It seems to me that we have nevertheless made it possible: with the four new management board members Dr. Ralph Körfgen, Dr. Eckart Pech, Michael Rauch and Hannes Reichl, whom we have gained in addition to Frank Brecher in the last 14 months; and with Frank Gotthardt himself, who continues to work as chairman of the supervisory board. And now today with Dr. Dirk Wössner, who will lead CGM to further substantial growth. The empowerment of doctors and patients and the strengthening of medicine and medical care through information technology and telematics has only taken place to a small extent, the greater part is yet to come. And a lot of that comes from us, from CGM!"

"Dirk Wössner is the entrepreneur, the team leader, from whom I expect that he will at least maintain the high growth rate of CGM, possibly even increase it. He is a very successful, internationally experienced and IT-attracted business leader who is familiar with both, the B2C and B2B business" Frank Gotthardt stresses and adds "in the large growth market of eHealth, CGM is a leading provider in Europe. Building on this, using his expertise, his charisma and his ambition, Dirk Wössner will set and achieve new exciting and value-creating goals." According to Gotthardt, the timing of the succession is perfectly chosen, because the digital transformation in health care is pushing forward with all its strength, and the enormous potential of this new era must now be harnessed with combined forces.

Dirk Wössner is a member of the management board of Deutsche Telekom AG and responsible for the business in Germany since 1 January 2018. Previously, he was responsible for the private customer mobile and cable business of the Canadian market leader Rogers Communications from 2015. From 2002 to 2015, he held various management positions at Deutsche Telekom in Germany and England. Among other things, he was managing director of private and business customer sales at Telekom Deutschland and responsible for Telekom's wholesale business in Germany. From 1997 to 2002 he worked for McKinsey & Company in Munich and Madrid. Dirk Wössner holds a PhD in chemistry, is married and the father of four children.
