U.S. Employers Take More Time Than Ever to Fill Jobs: ChartU.S. businesses are taking more time than ever to fill a record number of job openings. Employers on average took 29.3 days to fill a vacant position in April, the longest period in data going back to 2001, DHI Group said Thursday. The report followed Labor Department figures Wednesday that showed openings rose to 5.79 million in April to match the highest level since records began in 2000.June 9, 2016
